I just order my first Warmoth guitar and I am super excited to assembly it and play it. the specs are as followed:

Body: chambered VIP
mahogany with flame maple top
one f hole
H X H pickup routing
Amber dye
natural binding
clear coat on back

Neck: All rosewood Reversed Gibson explorer
Oval inlays
SS6105 frets

Hardware:
One volume
Gibson style 3 way pickup selector
Seymour duncan p-rail in the neck
Symour Duncan JB in the bridge
mini DPDT switch for the p-rail
Gotoh 510 bridge
Sperzel locking tuners
earvana nut

My question is about the Gotoh 510 bridge. What rating can some who has used it give it? does it provided good sustain? and is it an overall good bridge?

It's on the Dragonburst Green VIP I built last year, see the gallery.

It's smooth on the hands, has plenty of range to intonate a variety of tunings with, and is very focused sounding.  Of all of the fixed or non-trem style bridges out there, it's my #1 pick.

2nd would be the Schaller 456 which is like the 510 but with fine tuners on the ball end.

It's an extremely solid bridge that gets about as good a connection with the body as you'll get, due to the way in which it locks in place. I'm not too sure I'd want to put anything else on a TOM style body when the option is available. It is a very well made piece. Mine is combined with the 510 tuners, which whilst not the locking variety are very effective and they have a slightly unusual style of button that is very distinctive. Here they are on my Warmoth LP, 'Braveheart'

I have a 510 on my VIP, http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=7931.0

It's absolutely killer! I really love it, the sustain is awesome, and the fact that it locks in place once you get it setup is really cool too. If I build anymore guitars, I am for sure putting these on 'em!

I have one on my Warmoth SG and the sustain and tone are great on that guitar. That bridge feels very solid and I believe it is definitely contributing to the high quality of that guitar's performance.

Thanks for the feedback! I feel more confident about my guitar now! i'll post pictures when I receive it!

AMEN to the 510!
The guitar player in my old band had a Chrome one on his Black VIP. We loved it. It's low profile and clean looking. He used the Shcaller locking tuners and a Graph-Tech nut, rock solid tuning.

Tony's comment on the intonation is a humble understatement. My guitar player used some giant strings and was sorta rough on them during shows. All we had to do was change the strings, tune her up and BANG, intonation hadn't moved a cent.

BTW, sounds like a beautiful build :icon_biggrin:
