I have a Gotoh 201 on my Squier Jazz and the action is too high to my taste, even with the bridge saddles lowered as much as possible. From what I've heard, this is pretty normal with this particular bridge. It's solved shimming the neck pocket but that doesn't feel like a solution to me, a workaround at best.
I was wondering: Would the Hipshot A-style bridge be better when it comes to this? I only know it from pictures and it seems like a fairly low profile bridge.
Would an all-Warmoth J-bass have the same issues? Or is a W-neck for instance thicker to compensate for bulkier bridges?
