I'm sure you'll be able to hunt around for something closer to home then ordering all the way from the UK. Foam cases are the tits and you can easily accidentally fall on it and your guitar will be fine, fall on a gigbag and the chances are you've damaged something. I would honestly say get a hard-case but if that's not an option, foam is the way forward.

you know when u have to grab your board and your amp with your guitar and hop on a train, u either need to get a guitar tech or a third hand..
for now, i think i wanna get a back pack type foam case. was looking at SKB but they made these kind of case for classical or steel strings instead of electric.. :sad1:

most foam cases come with straps for wearing on your back. gig bags are easier to get around on but they offer no protection at all and the last thing you want is your prized guitar damaged. foam and hard cases are a pain in the ass but you can rest easy thet they take the punishment and not the guitar.
Its like the SKB but i recently bought one from here for my bass warmoth

They do an electric guitar case aswell, and even just from putting my bass into it and feeling the padding on the inside,
i instantly felt safe about using it to carry my bass around instead of my hardcase while i can't drive :icon_thumright:
Might not be as good as i think it seems but does feel good and sturdy and safe to me.

Dude a nice gig bag is just fine. As long as you plan on being the only one handling your guitar and you aren't a gorilla you shouldn't really have a problem. All a gig bag can do is make a guitar easier to carry and keep it from getting scratched or dinged. Now as proven above a tool bag on the other hand can make posts on an internet forum. There some nice ones out there but the more protection they offer the less gig bag like they become.

Well I've never had a guitar damaged in a gig bag. They have definitely protected against them. Of course a hardship case offers better protection. Any idiot knows that. The OP is just lookin for a gig bag not a debate or a tutorial or whatever. If anyone knows of any then chime in. I have an incase bag that is pretty good.

the best gig bag I have ? well that depends, for protection I have gig bag for my bass that has some serious foam padding, I can throw the bass into the trunk and it is ok when I get there.
But it has one small pocket that will hold maybe a chord and strings, about it. It has a few large loops that you could put straps on.
My Accoustic I have a much thinner bag and you do not abuse it, that would be bad, but it has 3 pockets and can hold a lot of gear.
THe first one is made by Gibson and I highly recommend it the second is just some other brand and I will say it is useful, but in a protected environment
I do not think the OP is wanting a light duty bag, he wants to travel with the Axe. I would recommend the first to him.
as a side not I carry a equipment gig bag also with tools, strings, tubes, polish, finger ease, fx pedals, picks and et al in it that I have a long over the shoulder strap on.
Also I have found a very small stand that weighs less than a pound and folds up really small that is a back saver on the road.
