yea the difference in the height of the arc is minimal. unless you do major thirds when you bend and have your strings extremely low it shouldn't affect your playing.
i think the deciding factor if you have to chose between a 10-16 compound and a strait 16 is just familiarity. if you like the jackson go strait 16.
another factor is the nut width and string spacing at the bridge, if you like a wide nut and narrow bridge like a gibson then the compound may have too much varience between the nut and the end of the neck(come to think of it that might be a further advantage when bending), but if you like a more fenderish setup, narrow nut and wide bridge then that is what the compound is designed for, or at least it will be an improvement.
