Lest the link die soon:
"These were purchased at a sell when Boogie Bodies went out of business in Puyallup. I purchased a group for the guitar bodies but I don't do anything with bass guitars. The necks with rosewood and ebony fretboards are 1 3/4 at the nut 2 3/16 wide on the treble end, fretboard length is 22 1/4 inches approx. The three maple are aprrox. 1 3/4 to 2 1/2inches by 24inches long. You can see three have birdseye with one being AAA or AAAA figuring. I'll throw the body in, it's pretty much a pine one that would make a good template the pocket is two wide for any of the necks, it must have been for a five or six string bass. The truss rods seem to be installed on all of them. Great start towards a fretless. All for 125.00 I'm pretty solid at that price. I've come down 75.00, I want them gone before I go in the hospital. I just dropped the price from 200.00. I will let the nice Birdseye maple ones go for 40.00 each if you just want one. Finish them and that's a 300.00 plus neck. I'm having knee surgery in a week and I would like to get these sold. May consider breaking them up or trading for guitar or guitar related items."

I don't have anything close to the tools needed to take advantage of that, and don't really need a 4 string neck anyway, but this is a motherlode for someone with the right tools & skills.  I'm tempted to buy the lot for 1 4 string neck, and get rid of the rest pieces at a time, but I don't want to get stuck with a pile of stuff the wife can give the evil eye over until it's gone.

If I lived in seattle I would buy one immediately. I would make a fretless out of my jazzy.
Does anyone ship? :) :blob7: :help: :sad1:

I'd be inclined to do so if I ended up buying the lot, but in the last hour, I've already dreamed up a nice fretless 4 or two.  I have a friend who does cabinet work & various finish carpentry stuff, so I'm considering buying a few maple blocks to pratice with his roundover bits...  but those are some NICE pieces of wood for me to screw up, so it would be a LOT of practice before I touched one for real.  I'm pretty sure I'd get banned for life from here for screwing up some of that birdseye.  :o

I'll talk it over with the wife, and if they're still there tomorrow, there's a good chance I'll grab 'em.  If I do, expect to see some of them up on the for sale section.

Let me know before you make it public? :blob7:

If I end up calling the guy, and if he still has the necks & body, and if I'm able to drive down there before someone else picks it up before me...

...then yeah, you can expect a pm.  :occasion14:

Note the multiple known ifs, as well as if unknonwns. Or unknown ifs.  Or maybe my wife will just stop me right as I'm heading out to say "Honey, $125 for a bunch of parts that you can't immediately start working on is about as smart as you paying the bills before they're due, but then not remembering to actually make the payment"

There's a reason some dames end up in charge of Men's money....  ???

I checked these out a while back... maybe a year ago?  The guy flaked on me and disappeared... he had quite a few finished and unfinished necks in a storage unit and some other fun stuff as well.  The maple is all excellent; that old big eye birdseye stuff.
