Greetings,

Not sure how to setup a poll, but for this Velocity body setup, would you go with gold, black or chrome hardware?  Neck is a 24.75" conversion Tiltback Strat, roasted maple and ebony board.

@stratamania - Thanks for the tip on the Gotoh bridge

No problem on the tip. On the colour of hardware, what will the necks and pickups be?

To set up a poll, just click on set up new poll, it is next to set up new topic.

Thanks!

For the neck, currently have black tuners with pearl tuning heads and a white nut

Pickups, well, that's part of what I'm asking about.  I would like metal pickup covers (gold or chrome) with black mounting rings, but with gold or chrome mounting rings, could go black bobbins.

Gold could work, but I don't use it unless nothing else works, or I have gold parts left over I want to use.

Black looks sharp, but I'll never buy black tuning posts again unless I want to look like a diabetic druggie, which sort of rules out the rest of it.

Chrome unless otherwise necessary.

Gotta tell ya, I was laughing pretty hard at this

For guitars with a natural wood finish like that, I like gold hardware. In fact my next build (if I ever complete my 2 current builds) will have gold hardware with a natural wood finish.

I don't care what color the keys are but black tuning pegs are a pitb to string up. My eyes are not what they were - I was once rather nearsighted and it was actually kinda handy for working on tiny stuff. Now there's a range where I just can't see without reading glasses and it makes messing with tiny wires and whatnot a royal pain.  I was joking about jabbing your fingers with the 0.008-0.011" string while trying to thread the black post.

Black controls would be cool because they match the binding.  If the Tuners are black, then the knobs should match.

I would avoid gold, because its too bling and will distract attention away from the nice inlay and binding work.

The best I can think of for the pickup rings would be Cream colour plastic.  It will add contrast, but will compliment the Ivoriod tone in the binding already used.

With an ebony fret board and dark headstock black tuners with pearloid  buttons would work just fine.  Then for the body I’d go with mostly chrome with black trim.  So chrome pick up covers with black rings, chrome knobs wth black rims or band. Etc.  bridge shoul be all the same color black or chrome.  Cream rings and cream knobs would look good too.  Depends on cream or pearloid fret board markers

Nickel  (Dare to be different I always say) because I like the look of nickel against brown-woods better than chrome. And also it is usually the most expensive and I'm spending your money. LOL.

Love the inlay, nice body.

I wasn't...I thought it was a bit tasteless and humor at the expense of others.

For hardware black, and for pickup rings ivory or similar to pick out the other colour in the binding. For pickups you could go zebra or if covered nickel covers. Just some ideas...

I lean gold. I do like gold on some finishes and the wood finish in the OP is an excellent for gold.

I prefer nickel 95% of the time. I'm neither a fan of black hardware nor of chrome (I find nickel looks nicer and ages nicer than chrome).
