Do any of you guys know how well gibson bell knobs work with push-pull knobs?
While you're at it, who knows a good source for very small amounts of cloth wrapped wire?
And also, what are the cap recommendations? (genuine texas humbucker neck, dirty harry tele bridge)

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure Gibson bell knobs do not have a set screw.  At least, the ones on my Explorer didn't.  They were fairly easy to pop off (not during normal playing, of course, but relatively minimal effort got them to pop off the pot shafts) so I can't imagine that they would be useful on a push/pull.  Especially since, after a while, the knob would loosen from the use of the push/pull and come off much easier.

But you can buy aftermarket knobs in a similar style which attach with a set screw, those should suit your purposes better.  Check eBay.

I have a Strat with a push/pull switch and had bell type knobs.  I hate them!
They pretty much turned me completely off of push/pull switches until I tried a different type knob.
I am now using a knurled chrome knob and life is much better.  The bell knobs are just about impossible to get a grip on while you are playing.
No they are not screw set, but I have never had one come off.  I just could not grab them easily.

The only place that I have purchased small amounts of cloth covered wire is a place in Germany.  They claim it to be genuine vintage cloth wire.
I am sure there must be closers places, but this is the only shop that I have used.
There site is at least worth checking out as they have some pretty cool electronic stuff.
They are the only place that I have found that sells a 500K no load pot.
Anyway here is the link and good luck  :headbang1:

Bell knobs look cooler than they work but I like them better than speed knobs. Two other options: superglue the suckers on there. Or, get a push-push instead.

Agreed; I like the looks of bell knobs much better than speed knobs.
I have not used the push/push knobs, but several shops that I have communicated with gave them a very poor rating.  They claim they just do not last.
However, for the sake of user friendliness, it might be worth it to use them knowing you may need to replace them more often.
Good luck in what ever you decide.

Everything is still being planned, but thanks for confirming my concerns. I'm going to look for other ways to get the settings I'd like.

I had bell knobs on my hamer. Two push/pulls. need a bit of space between the body and the bottom of the knob to grab on to it. with the rewire I did to the guitar I switched out to speed knobs...they pop off sometimes when I pull the switch. probably will have to modify the split shaft a bit. I got the knobs from Warmoth and the push/pulls either came from Warmoth when they were selling them or from stewmac.
