I picked this up on GFS as a B Stock.  It has some sharp fret ends from 12th fret up.  That's about where the low lights end.  It has a single VEH humbucker and a solid brass tailpiece.  The frets are level and tuners work fine.  It is in dire need of a set up.

The body is ash with just a thin coat of paint and some decent relic work.  The neck is maple with rosewood and has a graphite nut that it slotted well.  Profile is similar to the '59.

My plan is to take of the neck and fix the fret issue.  I will also install a neck mounted p90, toggle and tone knob.  That's it.

I will try to document as much as possible.  Guitar cost $99 and the pickup was $30.  I figure another $20 in good pots and switches and it will be killer for $150.

I've really been loving the Charvel "chopper" super-strat thing lately (like what Luxxtone is doing).  Nice find!

One of the design flaws on this is the bridge.  It is counter sunk which makes for a super low profile.  However when changing the strings, it is necessary to raise the bridge to get the ball end in.  So we decided the file small channels to make room.  Considering the relic look it blends right in.  Now we do not have to mess up the action every time we change the strings.

The p90 has been marked for my jig.  As soon as it stops raining we will get that done.

I did some work.  I added a P90 and my son cut a tummy cut.  I also filed the polished the frets.  I will wiring it with a volume, tone and three way toggle.  We will also tap the humbucker for single coil tones.
