Food coloring as a dye?

That finish looks great. I might give that a try on the back of the Meadowhawk neck, wasn't sure what to do with the Mahogany.
 
I have a touch of rosewood sawdust saved from shaving down the top of a Taylor acoustic bridge to lower the action on a customer guitar mixed in with the grain filler just to add a very subtle contrast. Alder is already tightly pored, so there’s not much to fill anyway. I just wanted some semblance of grain to appear in the midst of all that tint, and that will complement the black in the Emerald Pearl pickguard.
 
Next steps,
Adding Wipe On Poly to the headstock to get above the level of the metal Warmoth decal, then level sand, polish the headstock to get a smoother than glass look to the headstock face,
