floyd rose nut for 1.65 nut width

I know that R3 size floyd nuts is the normal for strat necks with a width of 1.68.

If i have a neck with a 1.65 width, should i stik with a r3? is the size different so small it wouldnt make a difference? or should i go with an r2 nut with i believe is ideal for a nut widght of 1 5/8.



any suggestions? thanks my friends!

A 1.65" neck still gets a 1-5/8" (R2) nut.

That’s what I thought.  The spacing for a R3 would place the strings quite close to the edge on lower frets.
