Is there a better way to loose your warmoth virginity then with this beauty? I don't know...

Its a chambered black korina body with a canary/pau ferro neck. It even arrived a few days earlier then the tracking told me! I'm pumped, cant wait to finish this beast off!  :guitaristgif:

What type of non-gold hardware will be going on this beauty?

Will have a good ol' ash try bridge of course (probably with 3 brass saddles or with 6 not sure?)  and planet waves tuners.
Are roadhouse pickups good? came across them and look like that might be the best way to go :)

roadhouse pickups are our own troubledtele's brand of pickups. Several people on this forum have gotten pickups from him, and I have read nothing but good things from them.  :icon_thumright:

Are Roadhouse Pickups good?
I only have one pair which are on my Black Dog tele.  I absolutely LOVE these pickups!!!
Ken is a great guy and if you don't like what you see/hear, he is more than willing to make custom pickups to meet your needs.
I definately plan on using his pickups on some future builds.

You have some beautiful wood going on and I will stay tuned for further adventures.

I have Ken's Roadhouse True Blue P90's in The Hog, and I cannot say enough good things about them.  They are extremely responsive to how hard you hit the strings, and make the most lovely smokey-low-volume jazz-blues noises, and the most aggro RRRAAAARRRRR snarly rock'n'roll noises as well.

That's one nice guitar! Also that's exactly what I want to hear about the pups!
Sounds like I have found what i need :) I'll have to email Ken up about it sometime soon!

Also, I was wondering if  500k pots would be the way to go for this to let in more highs being a baritone? If I do use the 500k pots should I use them as both volume and tone controls or 500k volume and 250k tone?  (I'll be using a .001 orange drop on the volume pot to keep the highs when i roll off the volume in case that matters? and i also have some .047 orange drops lying around so will use one for the tone cap).  :help:

cheers guys!

tanks guys :)

I exclusively use 500k pots, because if it says 250 it can measure out as low as 150, where a 500 will stay acceptably high. A little extra clarity never hurts. .001 cap on the volume pot is good. If you want even more clarity, I'd try a .22 cap on your tone pot. This will not only more clarity with the cap in the circuit, but it will also roll of less treble when you use the knob.

You mean .022, and I concur.

wow i didnt know that! 500k pots it is! Keeping clarity is my main goal :)

I'll try out the .047 caps first and if i dont like how they sound ill buy a .022, just as i dom't have them here so i may as well use the .047 first :)

500K pots are all I use as well.

The .047μf cap won't sound bad - caps don't have a sound - it'll just bleed off so much of your bandwidth that your tone pot will be all but useless. Back it off much at all and you'll not only be losing high end, you'll be losing a lot of the midrange as well some volume.

You don't need any kind of tricky cap - any old .022μf part will do. You could probably pick up a ceramic or mica version at Radio Shack for less than a buck. Warmoth sells 'em for .50 cents, and in bulk they're only .02-.03 cents.

I understood thats how the caps worked so probably should have put 'affect the sound'. But that made things a little clearer with how itll work. Ill go grab a .022 cap then. from what you said i'll only benefit from it. I believe I have .020 in my Gibby Les Paul and they work great dont muddy up the sound to much when i roll back the tone.

cheers

Just another quick question..
What would be the best tuners to get? the holes are 13/32" and i was intending on using the ernie ball baritone strings (13-72)
Thanks for the help fellas :)

You can use a push/push or a push/pull 500k pot, and run both caps, switch between the two for added versatility.  Kind of like the Stellar Tone curcuit.

I like the sound of that idea! Make for a nice unique guitar with that in there! Any other tricks you know to put in?  :blob7:
Would a 4 way switch benefit in the baritone? or would it just become rather muddy when the two pickups are in series?
