OK, then. I decided it was time for me to get one. I got a germanium fuzz box and plugged it in with a power supply to an outlet. I ran the cord from the guitar to the 'in' side of the thing and a cord from the 'out' side to the amp. Sounds simple enough.

My amp is a Fender Champion 100. I had it playing on channel 1 (clean). When I stepped on the button to activate the fuzz, all it did was switch the amp to ch 2 (effects) and play through whatever I have set that to. Step on the button again and back to ch 1. It was the same as if I had stepped on the channel select button on the footswitch. Playing with the settings on the box didn't make one whip of difference.

So, any input on what I may be doing wrong here? Thanks.

The footswitch jack (FTSW) is in a non-traditional place on the Champion - it's right where you'd plug in your guitar. If you owned that amp for 100 years, I could see you plugging things in wrong periodically. Don't know what they were thinking about on that one.

I thought I had it plugged into the input jack and the footswitch was in the ftsw jack. I did try it several ways and it acted the same in both.

So just to prove you wrong, I tried it again making sure it was plugged in correctly. You were right, of course.  :laughing11:

Thanks.

I'm glad that worked out for you. As I mentioned, I don't know what they were thinking about with that one. Fender's been putting two input jacks next to each other for both one and two channel amps since day one, and putting the channel/tremolo/reverb switch connectors on the back. In fact, that's most amps. Nobody would expect that footswitch jack to be where it is on that amp, unless perhaps they were very young and had never seen a guitar amp before.

Yeah, my 70's Bassman had a couple input jacks there. Well, I now know to be a bit more careful when plugging things into it.
