finnishing the job...

I have a swamp ash tele, and I have stained it, whats next....  :toothy11:  ?

This is my first stain on a guitar and I dont want it to go bad, can I keep it raw? - I love how it feels, what would be the downside to this?

Should I have applied a grain filler first, or is there still time to do that? I want to keep it as a flat finnish, satin if I have to...

Quick answer: Go down to Walmart and get two cans of satin Deft (semi-gloss).  Shoot on a few light coats then a few heavy coats.  Done, leave it as is after that if you want it to be satiny.  It will feel dry, but after the first heavy coat, give it a good three or four days to dry, before giving it the second heavy coat.

thanks man, I searched and read thorugh a bunch of threads but was still a little confused  :doh:, I will break the guitar down friday and apply some satin  :icon_smile:

Before you do that, wipe the whole thing down really well with rubbing alcohol to get your fingerprints off of it. Then follow CBs advice, you'll get it  in the right direction.
