So after buying this guy back in November (with a loan from some family members), I finally got myself a job and gotten around to ordering some more parts.

And today the neck arrived. Here's the album (since UW doesn't seem to allow BBcode resizing of images?): http://imgur.com/a/2FN5V#0

Pretty happy with how this is coming together, and I'm glad to finally get that body out of a box in the closet and start putting it to use.

Say... that's a nice neck!

You really ought to send it off to a premium neck setup guy like Cagey to give it the golden touch.

er wow - that's a heck of a thing.  Nice body as well.  Very well done, and not traditional at all.

WOW!  You sure won't see anybody else playing something like that.  LOVE it.
Is that top stripey like that naturally, or is that dyed somehow?

That's natural Black Korina. I picked that up in the showcase within an hour or two of it showing up in the RSS feed because it was so stunning. It's just got a black-burst on it with natural masked binding. (See this picture to see how the stripes in the wood show through at the end with the binding.)

Actually that's not a bad idea. PM me and let me know how much the golden touch costs and whereabouts I'd need to send it to.

As I was flipping through the pics, I was was thinking that it doesn't get much cooler than this.

Then I saw the Tigger neckplate and pups.  :blob7:

Wow that body blew me away. Can't wait to see the final assembly photos for this project.

Hi,

How feels the raw wenge in your hand ? Cool ?
And did you tru-oiled it ? Can it be left raw without any finish at all ?

Even if you wanted to put a finish on Wenge, it wouldn't take it. Too open grained. The Wood Gods intended it to be left raw.

That was well worth the wait for that neck  :o  yummie
Will look great on that body.

And I will assist. It is a crime against nature to defile beautiful Wenge with oil.  :icon_jokercolor:

However, Wenge does appreciate a good rubdown with 320 - 400 - 600 - 1200 - 2000 grit sandpaper.  Just a little elbow grease, and it will be a teflon coated lightning bolt.

Thanks, it will be my first raw slim tapper neck, finally...I should have chosen that kind of neck years ago...
