It's a flat top Solist:

Alder body
Recessed Floyd rout (I like 'em recessed, but I block 'em so they don't "float")
S-X-H pickup configuration
Direct-mount pickup rout
Single pot hole (Volume)
Omit pre-drilled neck mounting holes (I'm using a non-standard plate)
Install Floyd Rose threaded inserts
"720 Mod"

I know, it's pretty basic, but that's what I like. It's gonna get a nice transparent paint-job too...

I really want a "GreenBurst" paint finish. Basically, a dark transparent green with the wood grain showing through, and the outside edges solid black (like my Sunburst Strat, only green).  The neck will be a Strat-type with a rosewood fingerboard, and black-painted headstock. 'Haven't ordered that yet. I am seriously considering stainless steel frets, but may need some help deciding. EVH is using them now, and says they don't hurt the tone at all...

EVH is right, and they play sooo good it's sinful.  I say go for it.

My biggest concern is that if any fret-leveling needs to be done when I receive the neck, or the fingerboard shrinks (my other guitars have), and the fret ends need filed down,  I'd have to find a luthier with fret-dressing tools for stainless steel...

They'll need exactly the same tools as if the frets were nickel based.
