So, I was thumbing through the latest Musicians Friend catalog in my, um, "reading room", when I noticed Fender has a new line they call their "Select" line, with exotic woods, upgraded electronics, and modern truss rods, and it dawned on me:

What if Fender...

...contracted Warmoth to manufacture their Select parts?

I hope not. They have maaany customers and too much Fender influence. I hope they 'll offer new things in the future, not get deeper in the Fender territory. Actually with the Select series they are trying to win customers who are buying the Suhr Pro series or similar prized Fender influenced guitar lines and people who are making the Fender instruments with figured top parts. I find the Select series to be Warmoth influenced, you could make these instruments with Warmoth parts since 1980.

took the Fender factory tour, done it twice now, anyway they have a station where they are gluing on tops to bodies, they do as much in house as they can.

No. Then Warmoth would get too big, they'd have to hire some dingbat Harvard business grad to run things, and it would all go to shit. Then we'd have to buy USACG necks, and they're no fun at all. If all I wanted was an Indian Rosewood over Maple neck with questionable dimensions, there are dozens of places to get those for a lot less money.

Warmoth is not making any parts for Fender so everyone can relax.  :rock-on:

That's good, because if that were the case I'd have to quit planning out my next Warmoth build.

While I love Fender, my Warmoth plays and feels far better than ANY off-the-wall Fender I've EVER played.
