So I was at the music store the other day when this oddly finished Tele grabbed my site. Since I'd never actually seen a Custom Shop Tele in person, I was pretty excited. It wasn't until I looked at the price tag and saw "Custom Shop" written on it that I realized what it was...and then there was the price! I can't remember the exact figure but I think it was $4500.
I've never seen a guitar like this before (probably why it was a Custom Shop model...) and while I've never been a huge fan of rosewood (going off of what I've seen on the necks of some of my guitars...), this one just really struck a chord, no pun intended. It was a very deep, dark, almost chocolate color and the body and neck matched perfectly. The pickguard was black and the fretboard inlays were a goldish/bronze color. While it wasn't exactly a guitar I would buy for myself, I couldn't help but to think how gorgeous this instrument was.
Anyone else seen one? The only difference between the one below and the one I saw was that I believe the one I saw was in a satin finish, but I can't recall for sure.
