Allright well it's like way late and I'm sitting here doing bong hits and thinking about the 'turtle' guitar I built last year. It is honestly the best guitar I have ever played. Granted being left handed, I haven't had the chance to play more than about a dozen guitars in my lifetime. But I was sitting here thinking about how well it plays, how good the neck feels, how freakin awesome it sounds......... I mean it makes my bassman head growl a real nice honest tube distortion with the Dimarzios. The T-bridge, honestly sounds like an acoustic guitar with a pickup. I know some guys don't like the way they sound, but I do! I mean, I don't know, I really nailed something for once!! I'm not gloating, I just don't give myself enough credit sometimes. Man I wish I could build them for a living, like my day job....... not just bullshit fixes for my bros, you know?
I was just strumming out some favorite GD songs, and my wife was singing here at the house this evening (kids away tonight!) and being my own worst critic, I can honestly say we sounded good. I don't know though it could be all the woodchuck's and bongs, not sure, but I do need to find some sort of recording apparatus other than a tape deck. I don't have any freakin clue how to make analog tape into digital music. I know there is a way, but I also know that there is a way to just do it digitally, so why not skip the analog part. I'm not the most computer savvy person.
Anyway what I have learned from this build is that I can't stand the freakin blend pot I put in this one. I am going to switch it out for a stacked pot so I will have two stacked pots, volume over tone on both for both dimarzios. Then I think I can call it 'just exactly perfect!'
I apologize for using the forum as my psychologist, but y'all are allright!! :rock-on:
