Epiphone Ultra II Les Paul

I must confess I have been thinking about getting a LES PAUL withthe passing on Les.  One I was considering was the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II with chambered body and NanoMAG pickup.  It seems really cool in the videos.

My hang up is the chambered body.  I have always been a solid body player.  how does the really effect tone?

I found out that all Epiphone guitars are poly finished....that was news to me!
