Okay so I bought the schecter damien 7 a week or so back and it came in thursday with these pickups.. I just wanted to say these things are pretty repulsive.. Some of the most dull and lifeless humbuckers I've ever played... That being said, anyone have any suggestions for a 7 sting pickup?

I'll just +1 Schecter's poor choice of pickups. I've got "Duncan Designed" in mine, and they're... not good. Not good at all.

Can't really help you with your actual question though, I have zero 7-string experience :icon_jokercolor:

what kind of priority's do you have for the pickup, such as tone, fatness, sustain etc
and sorry, I barely have 4 strings figured out after 45 plus years on the guitar, seven is just to fat a neck for me.

Yea, I have the duncan designed in this guitar as well, although they're not terrible they're far from good, I just haven't gotten around to changing the yet haha.

I just want something that doesn't sound so thin, One of my high priorities would also be having very high harmonics.. But I still want to retain the over all look of the guitar with the flat black and lack of pole pieces.. Even if it's just with a cover... I think It looks nice. The second pic is the damien.

Duncan Design and EMG-HZ are both examples of turds wrapped in a brand name.  Passive EMGs?

Was that a question? lol Yes, They're passive.

I know they're passive.  I don't trust a passive EMG, an active Seymour Duncan, or a cocaine free Dallas Cowboy.

The SD Dave Mustaine Livewires are pretty badass. I put those in my Hellraiser. They sounded so much better than the EMG's. Plus they matched the black chrome hardware. :occasion14:

I found the same thing with my Schecter C-1 Custom.  They used Duncan's, but somehow the choice of pickups don't do the guitar justice.  I'm switching my pups out too. :tard:

I had the 707's in a guitar and they are not my taste.  They seemed to have a lot of sizzle, but very little body (or Bacon as I prefer to say).  Currently am working with TT on pickups for that guitar.  Need to do some more work on that.  Been busy at work recently.

Emg 707? Anyone tried these? or have any suggestions?

Yep, my stolen Ibanez 7-string had the 707's in it. Worked great. I have a 707-81 I was going to try in it, but it's gone now.

Here's a clip of the 707's tuned to A#/Bb
