I like the looks of the electrosocket jack.  But will my cables work with it?  I prefer angled Monster cables like this:

Having a quick look at my tele, I don't think so.  The shoulder of the plug ends up being about 3/16 inside the cup when inserted.

Ain't gonna fit.

My electrosocket tele doesn't work with my angled cable.  When I plug in my tele, I put the angled end in the amp.

Don't get an electrsocket, just get a Les Paul jack. It's better in every way.

Except looks! I hate the square plates you have to mount the jack on.

I personally like the deep panel jacks, but I didn't think it'd be a smart idea to get one on my latest project (thinline with standard tele control route). So I went with electrosocket.

Like I said, I agree with callaway, I think they look cool.  But I'm not going to switch cables to accommodate a side jack plate :P

+1000. I use the angled end for my Preci and the straight one for all the rest.

Yup just checked.  One of my pedal patch cords is a dual 90 degree Monster and it won't seat in the Electrosocket in my W Tele either.  I don't know if a square plate will fit on the side, at least the jack plate on my LP is too big for it.  It might need a football shaped plate.

I really like the Electrosocket but I use mostly straight plugs except for patches.

That actually looks really sweet on that guitar. I've got a walnut thinline / rosewood neck headed my way hopefully soon, but as I said, I went electrosocket. That would have looked hot at well though. I guess the ones I really don't like are the plastic faceplates... ugh!
