I use D'addarios and Fender, but your poll didn't give me the option to vote for more than one. I'll probably stop using the Fender strings though since they seem to corrode faster for some reason. I do like the bullet ends though a lot. I wish all strings were like that.

GHS Boomers/D'addario XL's.  For me, it all depends on the guitar.  I like em both.

I feel the same way about Fender bullets.  Too bad they wear out so fast.

I'm using Daddario XLs, but I used to use GHS.  Both are about the same in terms of general quality and the are both consistent from batch to batch, which was important to me (I hate setting up the intonation for each new pack of strings).

To be honest, I mostly use Daddario because of the packaging.  I also get them in bulk packs of 10, which saves on the packaging even more.

And they sent me a set of beer glasses  :occasion14:

Another D'Addario user.  I used to buy GHS Nickel Rockers for my Strat until D'Addario started making pure nickels, but now it's D'Addario all the way.  Regular 10's on my long scales and 11's on my short scales.

I've been using EB's for years, but I was in Hastings one day and needed a set of guitar strings and bought a set of Black Diamonds($4.95). And I'll have to admit I was surprised at how well they played.... :dontknow:

I either use the house brand stings from the local shop or Dean Markley's which are made here in my home town (Santa Clara).

You sorely need an "other" category.  But I play D'Addarios, and occasionally generic bulk strings.

Daddario... they are not only cheap but the packaging means they last forever and are fresh when you use it. With Taiwan's humidity strings that comes in normal paper envelope don't keep too well, I had a set of Fender string that was rusted out of the box, that's when I stopped using Fender... I'd use elixirs but the problem is aside from the price is that they start looking all fuzzy and the coating is only done on the wound string, that means the last 3 string is still the same as any other brand of string and rusts just as fast. Since I tinker around with guitars a lot I rather have a set of string that I won't feel so bad about changing than letting a string change keep me from doing something.

I've found you can make a plain steel string last quite a while.... if you have locking tuners, you can just take them off.... steel wool will get the black crud off them and they'll play just like new.  After a while they'll get brittle and break when you tune up.  Also you can make strings last longer by wiping something on them to keep them from rusting.  I use orange oil, I just wipe the strings every day or so after I play.  The undersides of the strings get dirtier because they're harder to get to.

I usually change my strings because the frets rub the windings off the D and G strings.  (I use wound 3rds)

Fender here... for a long long long time.  Since about '72.

Recently... a few issues on Fender strings.  Had a streak of 'em that simply unwound at the ball end.  No breakage... just "unwinding".

Then in this last set... I got an two piece high E string, right out of the envelope!

I did bring the unwinding to their attention, and they generously comp'd me some sets.

I like the tone and feel, but.... those high E's are getting pesky.  Hopefully they'll settle down again.

And, I gotta let you folks know, I usually get 30 to 40 sets of strings at one time, all the same type 150R .  That said, it could be the run had issues, and they've already gotten beyond this.

Fender Bullets 10-46 on my strat.
i used to use DR Black Beauties and Red Devils (9-42)  alot on my old Ibanez.

For bass, i used Slinkies on my Traben.
I currently use D'Addario EXL170's on both my Variax and my Warmoth fretless.
I used D'Addario Chromes on my Squier when i first started fretless.
I am thinking about trying some Rotosounds on my fretless, but that may be too wannabe Jaco.

For my guitars which use regular strings I use Rotosounds for my Steinberger which requires double ball end strings I tend to use D'Addario, in the past I have been known to use Ernie Ball strings but only when I can't get what I want and need to restring a guitar quickly.

super slinkies

i used d'addario before, they're nice but i prefer the feel of slinkies... like butter

daddario for electric, I try other brands once in a while but always come back to the XLs (and I can never settle on a string gauge). Couldn't stand the EB slinkys when I tried them.
Your poll needs more options though - I always, always use Martin SP for acoustic, those strings are far better than any others I've used.
