dying a roasted swamp ash body then grain fill and seal with solarez

Looking for to dye a roasted swamp ash body then grain fill and seal with solarez high gloss. does anyone have any experience with what dye works best with solarez? attached is a picture of a roasted swamp ash body and I am looking the to do a one color similar to the center of this tobacco burst body.

No experience with that product but kEda powder dye works with polyurethane and tru oil
 
I used Keda aniline dye on alder with Solarez. I bit off more than I could chew since I had zero experience with finishing. I really liked the color, but had so many lumps, blemishes and sand through that I had to start over with another body (I purchased a kit from Carvin/Kiesel).

There you go!  It works.  It's the finish application that is tricky.  The dying part is simple.

Is there a reason to do grain fill after dying?

I would think that the sanding done after the grain fill could do damage to the dye job.
 
If you dye the bare wood, the dye performs differently than if you dye sealed wood. Some might prefer that performance.  In such an event, you would dye the wood, then seal, then fill.  The sealant would diminish the risk of sanding through color.

Yup, this is what I used, and also no experience with Solarez.
