Dye and Birdseye Maple

On the Warmoth site it says that Dyes are only done on Westen Figured Maple.  In the "finish" section, Flamed and Quilted are the Maples that come up when "Dyes" are selected.  Does Warmoth do Dye on Birdseye Maple?  If not, is it a grain fill affecting the Dye issue because of the Birdseyes?

IIRC someone asked it and the asnwer was that the "eyes" were harder than the plain parts and therefore it wouldn't get the dye... May be very wrong, though

Well, I dyed the korina on my tele and other folks have had trouble with that.  I am sure it can be done, it might just be difficult to get right.  The difficulty might not be worth it for Warmoth.

Consistency, efficiency, and ease would all be important, and it sounds like this would make dying birdseye a no-go for Warmoth.

"It comes out splotchy looking.  So, no, they don't dye it.":

"I am fairly sure my Birdseye maple top is dyed."

I've never seen one on the site; more likely you have a burst or non-burst finish that is shot with a transparent toner rather than dye.

I am fairly sure the description was "brown dye back and front".. it's a shame I can't find the original order confirmation back :(

it is the sun, it looks slightly darker in person, but it is very 3D, so it also depends on the angle :)

I can vouch. It really looks like a dye in person.

showcase body?

maybe an occasional experimental thing. the kind of thing that gets painted black when it gets messed up.

it looks darker around a few of the edges is it a slight burst over as well?
