Well just randomly found a website for a place called buzzard basses in america, which were selling various dragonfire pickups for a good price,
and after looking on fleabay found that roughly speaking im looking at just over £40/$70 for a neck and bridge set along with the necessary 25k pots and such,
having looked at reviews where people have upgraded stock squier pickups with them,
They all seemed relatively happy with the results i believe.
Just wanted to ask you guys what your thoughts were or if any of you have had any dealings with dragonfire pickups in the past.
The bass im considering these for is my project bass which i will be getting either a solid colour finish and clear for or tinted finish for from tonetech luthiers here in England.
To replace the stock ones that came with the bass itself, they arent bad sounding pickups themselves,
the neck pickup doesnt function very well right now as i glimpsed that the wire was half broken at one point going to the pickup itself as i was installing the control plate :doh:,
which i will fix anyways.
But i was just thinking of getting a set of these to see how they are as i have never properly played an active pickup bass,
These seemed better than the usual ebay cheap pups as they are sold at proper music shops, but i wasn't sure.
However i thought for the price its a amount of money i dont mind using for some test pickups to see how they sound in the bass,
rather than going for proper emg's or some other actives, finding im not keen on the active pickup sound as much as i thought i might be,
And having wasted more money on pickups i wouldnt be using :tard:
So any thoughts?

If i do go for these im considering ordering them from here anyways, as if they deliver to england id prefer it to fleabay, and they have a good selection of other components.
