WarPAINT sales volume is off the hook. We had to set up folding tables for extra space. Necks and bodies are flying out the door like winged monkeys. Fly my pretties...FLY!!

Yeah, that's pretty low-rent. Makes you feel like trailer trash. But, that which does not kill us makes us stronger. Or something.

Stronger or richer, -one or the other (-or both).

With volume like that moving out of inventory, maybe it's an indication that the pricing is getting closer to matching demand, I mean if it's working, why go back to those pesky, wide profit margins?  :icon_jokercolor:

Depends on whether you're interested in volume or not. Low volume, high price is often the same as high volume, low price. Probably make the same money either way, unless there are some economies of scale available that haven't been reached.

But then there's the fixed costs, utilities, payroll, etc. that all come off the top either way, and volume off-sets that...

(-Wait. WTF am I doing? When I'm at work screwing off looking at the forum, I don't wanna start chatting about work-type stuff, jeez!)

-Ya know what KG? You're right. To heck with volume, and let's get back to bashing those god-awful folding tables!  :icon_jokercolor:

Anyone ever see that episode of Happy Days when Marion runs the hardware store while Howard is out of town?  He returns terrified to discover that she held a "dollar paint sale," then amazed to discover the store actually made a huge profit:  They made a killing by selling accessories that are sold alongside paint - items like paint brushes, rollers, thinner, tarps, bridges, pickups, raw necks to mate with painted bodies, tuners, etc.

Huh.  Go figure!

:sign13: Yeppers! Getting yer greasy hands on that neck and/or body may be a bit more than the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the project's budget, but sometimes it isn't the half of it!

Proud to report that I was responsible for three bodies, two pickguards, a custom neck, and various sundaries that will complete three guitars. One for me and two for friends. One of them is an entirely new Strat.

The new Strat is Black Burst on Swamp Ash, with all black pickguard and all black hardware. The custom neck is a Canary/Ebony/Abalone face dots/LSR that'll go on that body. It's going to be a real killer when it's done.

Pics of that and the Turtle coming up soon. I got the shipping notice that the body for mine will be here on Friday. Stoked!
