DL Quilt VIPs?

howdy,

So we al know that the DL Quilt LP's that Warmoth has been making lately are unbelievably beautiful but when are they going to put up some VIPs in the showcase? I'm a trem guy and all the LP's are already routed for TOM bridges. I think trems look best on double cutaway guitars anyway so please make some AAAA VIPs.

Based on what appears to be the current work load at Warmoth, it may be a while before you see many new VIP bodies in the Showcase.  As they have already posted some VIP DL Quilt tops that quickly disappeared from the Showcase, you could probably call/email and order one, but keep in mind that the process to build/finish one is going to take longer than most other custom body orders.

DL VIPs are not an option right now because WM has sold the CNC machine that did the original ones and they have a long queue in programming DL stuff in the other / new machine.

Bummer...

You'd think that in this economic environment Warmoth could find a CNC programmer who got laid off by the auto companies or something. Maybe I'll get lucky and by the time they can offer DL quilt VIPs they can also offer a 25" conversion neck. Positive thinking right?

We're pretty close to being able to do the DL VIP and even something more that I can't talk about yet.

will we know what you're talking about before the end of the year? :) I seriously hope multiply binding or an es335-style shape... (L5s doublecut is also fine by me) or f-holes on a carved top les paul...?

I hope so. Things get started and then side shelfed periodically as other more pressing matters rise to the top of the priority list. I am happy to report we have an additional programmer joining our team. That doesn't mean "immediate" broadening of our product line but it does fuel those goals down the road a bit.

I'd put it another way: the things I like (carved top vintage style guitars, f holes) are they somewhere done the pipeline?

I will give you a deadline for DL VIPs. Just after the day that I decide to order something different from Warmoth... :(

Stop pushing it Orpheo... let them work on their carved top tele first!

sorry, I think that an es335 is more likely, cause thats something warmoth doesnt have at all. if you wanna have a carved top singlecut, you can get a les paul.
