Will this work for a solid Basswood body?
aerosol shellac sealer/lacquer (2 coats)
aerosol White Spray paint (just enough to make the guitar solid white)
aerosol deft brand clear gloss lacquer (several coats)
All I am trying to do is obtain a white gloss finish. Simple
I dont want the clear to yellow as I stack it up and I have heard that the deft has an anti yellow agent in it.
Also I think i screwed up by using minwax clear polyurethane instead of clear lacquer.
I used the same process only I did the clear with minwax clear gloss polyurethane and it sucked.
There was no runs or dist specs in it but it just started to turn yellow as you layered it up.
So I carefully sanded it all back to wood and want to formulate a better plan for this time around.
That's how I learn I guess, the hard way.
The guitar is a solid basswood z body.
