Glad you guys dig us being silly. We're friends first, a band second. And since we're all a bunch of goofballs... Well, there you have it. The fun we have tends to translate well to our shows (
we once decked out as the Rocky Horror cast). That is, when we manage to gig. Its been a while, we've not had a gig since last October.
We had a rough couple of years, our original drummer left, our original bassist left due to illness, our second drummer had to be let go, Erik (
serious looking rhythm guitarist) had to leave for a while, we struggled with other guitarists, Erik came back... Now we're set with a solid lineup, our current bassist fits in perfectly, our new drummer (
a tequila chugging, knuckle-dragging neandrothal, meat-head dude who used to be a chick!) is an amazing player and hilarious wise cracker.
We FINALLY get back to gigging this coming Friday in Leavenworth KS. Its just an hour, and its a somewhat more organized "open mic night", but we are getting paid. Then the following weekend we have two shows in one day, Lees Summit MO downtown days, we go on at 3:30 outside Jerry's Bait Shack (i
ts actually a fairly popular bar/venue), then we play a private party just two hours later for the rest of the day, fortunately less than a mile away. Then the following weekend we play at my friend's coffee shop, Javanaut on 39th street near state line, in Kansas City. WHEW, no gigs for six months, then four gigs in three weeks!

It's exactly like a Grateful Dead concert! :hello2:
Where can I buy your CD?
Regarding the Dead.... Very early on, right after we got together, we donated a gig to at a charity auction. Nobody knew us, we'd played one show to that point, and nobody was bidding. They started the price at $350. Then they slowly dropped it down to $100, still no bids. Then a chubby guy with a giant beard (
actually, he was a friend of ours) stood up and said "I'll give ya $50 for 'em, but they gotta play some Grateful Dead". Sold. Fortunately I am a fan of the Dead and knew a bunch of their songs already. Consequently "Friend of the Devil", "Althea", "Truckin", "Uncle John's Band", and "Tennessee Jed" are in our playlist.
Regarding a CD... We don't have one yet... We do have lots of originals, but we've not focused on getting them recorded in a long time. Every time we'd get halfway through, we'd have a situation with a member that put it on the back burner. However, now that we've got our lineup solid again, its only a matter of time before we get back on it.
In the meantime...
Go here
http://www.erikkarlsson.com/ and buy our Rhythm Guitarist/Vocalist's CD. Erik just finished this. He does the acoustic folk coffee shop thing and gigs twice a week, sometimes more, under his own name. Its his second CD, and it contains some really amazing stuff. His song "Fly" is amazing and I'm going to demand that the band start playing it. Its about his daughters (
he has two teenage girls), on the surface, writing a song about your kids seems cheesy, until Erik does it. We're lucky to have such an amazing songwriter in the band, and as much as I want to push him forward, he's adamant about being the "rhythm guitarist". I love that guy, one of my all-time favorite bandmates.
Also in the meantime... Here's a youtube of an original I wrote, Erik did the video.

Funny! Why is the guy at your right soooo serious? hahahaha
He always looks serious when he plays! He takes his job seriously, as soon as he stops chording, the smarmy quips fly. Though, sometimes his song selection reflects his sense of humor.
