Did I mess up?

So I don't consider myself a "n00b" when it comes to putting together guitars, but something seems amiss.

I just received my strat body today, and I started doing my trem work on it.  It's a standard 6-hole Fender vintage spec trem, and thats the Trem feature I had warmoth do.  I usually like to put a lot of spring tension over the string tension, so I screwed the screws into the predrilled holes.

When I went to put the springs into the back I noticed the tips barely popped through the finish where the trem springs are.  Is this normal? 

The screws are not all the way down, just down to hold the trem in place.  Everything looks normal and sits how I normally like it.

They just come through the back a little. This has been discussed quite a bit here and whether or not that it should happen. I don't know exactly how deep the tremolo cavity is in the back, but with the long screws they just poke through a little.

So basically, yes it is normal, it happens. You didn't do anything wrong. Hopefully it doesn't bother you too much.

Plus I know another one I helped build doesn't come though either.

TADTS.  In order to work with a variety of vibratos the cavity is a bit shallower than what Fender runs.  Some users have noticed the tips of the screws in some kits will poke through.
It doesn't affect usability or stability.

My warmoth has been like that for about a year and a half of heavy trem use, and there are no issues there as far as I can tell.  :icon_thumright:
