I was so thrilled with the Bubinga/Ebony neck Warmoth Pro with Stainless Steel frets that I've decided to get another Warmoth neck for my other Thinline.  I recently replaced the Truss rod in the Karosa neck it has, but the Warmoth neck was so superior that I just can't fool myself anymore.  The stainless frets and Warmoth Pro truss rod setup has me sold.  I just don't want to waste my time with any other neck anymore.

So I sold my Epiphone LP custom on ebay and am about to order a new neck from the showcase.

Its gonna go on my Mahogany '69 Thinline RI with a Pau Ferro pickguard and Reed James Custom pickups with Pistacio wood covers.

I think I'm gonna stick with Goncalo Alves for the neck, perhaps Pau Ferro for the fingerboard.  There are several in the showcase, some are quartersawn, a few have roundback profiles.

Such as...

Then again, Indian Rosewood might be nice.  Like...

Or this light colored Indian Rosewood

I hear great things about Wenge/Ebony

Or I might go another direction... Like Canary....

Hmmm... what to do... what to do...

Well, the thing is, I'd be happy with any of them on the tone-o-meter.

At this point I'm shooting for playability and looks.  If I can't make any of these necks sound good, then I have no business playing guitar.

=CB= Thought his thinline with humbucker and Gonçalo Alvez neck was a bit too thick. As yours have single-coil, probably would be alright (pau ferro fingerboard shall help too, his was all G.A. IIRC). It's kinda Mahogany a bit fuller and warmer...

I am a Wenge fan.  Lots of mids to cut through, but still sounds very balanced.  Way slick to play.  The ease of playing won me over the fastest (sorry about the pun)  I doubt you could go wrong, literally, with the choices you have up there.  Truth be told, I still need a Goncalo and a Canary neck.  All in due time.  Oh, if you have the cash, Bocote is another drop dead looker that is very easy to play.

I love my GA/GA neck - not sure what to compare it to but it looks killer and I will never play a finished neck again. The cool thing is as the oils from your hands get into the wood it looks and plays even better.

I agree, I find myself disliking finished necks the more I play my raw necks. Only one's finished I have that I love to play are my Jackson's, I haven't a clue what they used on them, but they almost feel like they are bare...
