D.Allen pickups

Does anyone have any first hand experience with D.Allen Strat pickups ? I've got a new hardtail Strat build in the works and was looking for some pickups and came across the D.Allen site and his '69 voodoo set has me intrigued. I've budgeted about $150 give or take for pickups and was wondering what your thoughts were about these.BTW Strat is alder with maple neck. I'm not looking for a particular sound but something different from my strat with the custom shop '54's. Thanks in advance, Mark

I cannot speak to the D. Allen products, but I know a lot of folks onthis board sing the praises of the GFS pickups at guitarfetish.com.

I have a set of his VoodooBlues HSS pickups and I love them and would definitely buy from him again.  He has videos on his site with demos of the sounds of most (if not all) of his pickups.  His pickups are very popular at strat-talk.com
