The museum where I work is currently displaying items from Kirk Hammett's collection of classic horror/sci-fi art,  including some of his custom ESPs.

That's nice. At the local history museum here in Wichita there are several notable guitars on display, one of them being a "metal" guitar I put together back in the 80's for Mark Shelton of Manilla Road.

Some of those are quite interesting. All are well done. I thought the Ouija board one was most original. Thanks for the pics.

AirCap, do you have a pic of the metal guitar you did?

Here's a pic from one of their albums....

Nice work. Although aluminum could work, I assume that the 'diamond plate' is something other, then.

It's aluminum treadplate on an ash body, maple neck with ebony board. In an interview with a European metal mag, Mark said the guitar was made from solid steel....... Not quite. Anyway, he donated it to the local history museum. Kind of freaked me out when I heard about it... Made me feel old.

Hehe! Yeah. But even being aluminum, that had to be a hefty little rascal.

If you've heard any Manilla Road - you know it's metal. They've been around since the late 70's, and they made Metallica sound like pikers when they came out. UP THE HAMMERS!

RIP, Mark the Shark....
I just talked for an hour with him before this tour.
He died rocking out for the fans.

If you can, please contribute to the GoFundMe page so Bryan can bring Mark's remains home to his 92 year old mother....

Apparently, the Germans won't let Bryan leave until (1) all the hospital bills are paid, (2) all the hotel bills are paid, (3) the bill for cremating Mark's remains must be paid.... Only then will the Germans hand over his passport.

I think he's coming home, the action is quite successful and already over their target. Which doesn't mean there's no more need to chip in (I just did), expenses in these cases tend to be much higher than initially estimated.

According to Bryan Patrick's latest post on Flakebook, Mark Shelton's remains returned to Wichita, KS as of Thursday, August 9th.
