Is that a Valley Arts? I can't see the logo. Rondo has been putting out seven-string Teles off and on for a while, I love sevens and that's just perverse enough to work. http://www.rondomusic.com/t7.html

A difficult problem is that most makers follow the Ibanez piper and make their seven necks really thin - Warmoth among them. Schecters are bigger, and the only real option for a meaty manly seven neck besides total custom.

That looks like something Devin Townsend would have rocked in Strapping Young Lad.  Maybe it is a Stephen Carpenter model.  Definitely if it had the 26.5 inch scale length.  I think I could find a spot for one at my place, just with different pickups, heh heh heh

Meh, I like alot of Schecters, but that headstock suxxx, and I don't care for 7 strings. I'm still trying to learn to play with 6 strings.. But other than that it's cool...

That's me, although I like that headstock better than the traditional Tele shape.

Anything looks better than Jackson's. And anything is better than Jackson's. That's gotta be one of the silliest-looking and mechanically wrong designs I've seen in a long time.

It's a "one off" custom made ESP for Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones.  It was in the gallery on the ESP site.
I actually like the overall idea, but I think it should have a standard sized 7 string humbucker like a Duncan or Dimarzio in the bridge, and a single coil appointment in the and possibly the middle.
Also, the tunomatic just doesn't fly, it should have a flat mount bridge.

Cheaper to make a "custom" that doesn't require custom-machined parts, like a seven-string flat-mount  Tele HB bridge.  See, even Stephen Carpenter's up against it - custom only goes so far with a large mfg. concern.

Yay Warmoth, etc., etc.

Meh, whatever...It's funny, I don't see any bashing of the explorer design, and it's been around 50 yrs, Jackson just made it cooler.... :headbang1:

I agree. I also agree that the headstock looks good (I have to agree -- my Warmoth has the same headstock). Nothing else about that guitar, other than the attractive white color, impresses me though...

I don't mind the tun-o-matic, or the pickup placement.  The color scheme is pretty cool as well.  But, and I am guessing here, it is a baritone 27" guitar.  If so, having the strings go through body make it require really long strings.  That is something I find annoying from a practical standpoint.

That is a super-cool Tele, and Devin Townsend is a god.  Just so you know.  :headbang1:  Talk about a guy who's severely underrated as a guitarist and musician...

I had heard the name Devin Townsend, but never really paid attention... the tracks of "Addicted" are all over YouBube, it's was just what I needed to hear right now! I just spent 4 hours trying to nail some guitar parts down for a monster song I'm working on... in G major, C,D, all that stuff. I need to listen to other people for a while - loud ones... "Bend it Like Bender" is like a Phil Spector tune, but all of the guitorchestra sounds really angry. I'll but it, I don't mind spreading the money.

Check out a song by Strapping Young Lad called "All Hail the New Flesh."  Great Metal song, and guaranteed to kick pretty much anyone in the oranges.  :headbang1:

This is the gear demo of his for the New Black Album with SYL.  There are two parts, very much a commercial, but very Devin Townsend.

His sense of humor is quite evident.
