Contoured heel neck plate

Hi!

I've read on Warmoth that a contoured heel body uses a standard neck plate, with a special set of screws, of course..
If you look at it, when you put a screw in and you have a flat (non-contoured) surface, the head of the screw goes into the recessed hole perfectly flat.
But if the surface is not flat, but rather angled (contoured), wouldn't that leave a sharp edge of the screw head sticking out slighty on one side 'cause you can't tighten it flat, possibly cutting your palm while playing?

The fact is - I don't know, I'm just wondering 'cause I was just reading about it, so if anyone who has a contoured heel body could shed some light on this?

Hi Igor.

I have a contoured heel on my strat, and I don't notice any sharpness or anything catching on clothes.  I dont think you'll have a problem.

All the best
Jim

I've got two guitars with contoured heels and have never noticed anything sharp.  I'd say no worries.
