I was thinking of building a WGD style guitar as my first.  Since it is my first I thought I'd try to keep it as simple as possible and pick woods that would not require a finish (a rosewood body, wenge neck, and macassar ebony finger board) in order to avoid screwing it up.

Specifiactions:
Custom neck: Construction: Conversion angled 24 3/4" neck
                      Nut width: 11/16"
                      Neck Contour: Fat back
                      FB radius: Straight 12"

Sounds good.  Rosewood bodies don't need finishes, but generally have them.  If it's a cost thing, the cheapest 2 piece Rosewood body goes for $520.  Warmoth's finishes are great, and depending on the wood and finish, a finished Warmoth body could be had for less.  Is the no finish for cost or feel?  Are you going to get the Nalls mod?
