concentric pots

So I started wiring up my concentric tone/volume pots last night.  I have a question though, which knob should be tone and which volume?  Should the volume be the center/top part, or the bottom/outer part of the knob?

Right now I have it setup so that the bottom outer knob is the volume and the inner top is tone.  Do I have it backwards?

It doesn't matter. It is wht ever feels or looks right to you. I did a strat with 2 v 2 t and used 2 pots for volume and a concentric for the 2 tone.

Should'nt make any difference.  It's however you are most comfortable.  That is assuming both sections of the pot are the same spec.

ya, I'm probably going to switch it.  Volume on the bottom just seems "wrong" to me.  Oh well, at least I only set one of them up :)

I might be weird but if it was me, and you are doing 2v 2t with 2 concentric pots I would have one for volume and one for tone. Top one for neck and bottom for bridge.

I like this idea.  It would make it easy to roll tone off both pickups, too.

I've installed concentric pots on a Strat (no switch, just 3V & 3T), and to me, it seems like the most versitile thing to do is to put the volume on the bottom, since it will make it easier to roll with the side of your finger, especially if you like doing the Roy Buchanan/Danny Gatton volume swells. Plus, at least in my playing, and what I've seen, you're fiddling around for the volume during a song anyway more so than the tone knob. The tone is normally only adjusted to round off the top end so you're not so bright sounding in some applications.

That's just my opinion though.
