I can only wait to see what you do to the neck. Maybe backing the head stock into a meat grinder for a minute and then a sand down? then drip blood colored stain on the fret board?
keep up the killer work

I don't have a neck yet, but blood is a great idea ;)

Brilliant.

On a related note, I kinda want to see someone play guitar with their hands like this:

That's a sick photo, although I have an awesome one around here with me at a party with the crotch of my pants on fire, It was good until actually started burning my pants...
Aerosol can deodorant it fun to play with  :icon_biggrin:

don't dye the whole fretboard, tho . . . just put some smears and drips on it like you slit your fingers open on the high e and kept playing.  :party07:

I love the look of this guitar :rock-on:

Thanks :)
It is obviously not my intention to make this to look like a relic, just wanted to take the process to the extreme a little bit...

here are some before pics.. I think I posted them somewhere else, but can't remember were..

soo, I have a little dilemma about the hardware...
Initially I was thinking about an aged/cream pickguard with 2 (aged) chrome covered humbuckers..
but now I am leaning more towards a 1 ply flat (matte) black pg with 2 cream open humbuckers...

Any suggestions?

oh and the other hardware will be chrome of course..

any suggestions on how to age/rust the chrome??

I vote for flat black with cream pickups.

or maybe some red/black Zebras.

as for aging... um...

leave it in CLR for a week?

no pickguard! mount a pickup ring on that thing and let the grungy pickup routes and all show! i think it would be really cool. you'd need a small section of pickguard to mount the knobs on

I voted aged cream with aged nickel/chrome humbuckers.

+1.

If it's good enough for Jimmy Herring...

I love that look!! very similar to what I had in mind...

Also, on the hardware, I don't want it to lose the shine, I want it to rust!! would vinegar work or do I need to use acid?
