Combining long scale bass body and short short neck?

The Warmoth short scale bass neck heel is .125” less wide and a bit shorter than their standard scale neck pocket.

Would it be making sense to shim the standard scale neck pocket to make the short scale neck fit, and drill holes in the neck for the assembly?

Obviously the bridge would have to be adjusted to match the actual body scale.

As you probably know those necks are designed to work with the compatible body only.  So I would say it does not make a lot of sense to do so.

It doesn't mean you could not fiddle about with pads and shims and putting a bridge into a spot where intonation will be achieved but why go to those lengths of adventure when you could just use compatible parts.

Is there a particular reason you are headed down this road?  You can do a short scale compatible p or j bass body. Not to mention the mooncaster. I don't see a benefit to mixing these.

My thoughts too..... for the money you would save not buying a short scale compatible body, you would spend in work arounds...
