Dunno. But, apparently life can be a real obstacle to getting things done.  Mr. Hendrix put out 3 albums while he was alive, but has been quite prolific since he assumed room temperature:

Live albums 25
Compilation albums 27
Singles 27
EPs and special releases 27
Official bootlegs 23
Albums as sideman 9
Singles as sideman 4

Hendrix albums are getting to be like "vintage" Strats or people who "actually attended" Woodstock. Who knew there were so many?
