Yeah my LP stuff came in today! I never got an e-mail from Warmoth or UPS so i wasn't expecting it. I still haven't opened the boxes yet. I had to go out when i noticed they were there and I had to force myself to be responsible and continue on with what I was doing. ;)

So, uh yeah I'll have pictures in a little while after my son gets up from his nap. He's very into seeing boxes and what's in them and he like dad's guitars so he's almost as excited as I am. My order took almost 8 weeks to arrive so kudos to Warmoth for getting it here within the estimated time.

Oh and my build has no exotic wood so... sorry 'bout that hahaha. Just boring old mahogany and rosewood. ;)

that is hilarious!! How old is your son? I do that too sometimes and wait with opening boxes for my 2 year old. the problem is that he likes guitars too...in a way that he would yell 'mine!' and take the neck outside for a walk before I can catch him. :)

He's two and he already knows what pickups, tuners, bridge, and amps are hahaha. I'm sure he's going to want to get his hand on all the parts... :binkybaby:

Can't stop laughing here...
Your kids will be guitar players!!! Very nice!

Congrats! And pics, dude... just give pics...
Don't worry about Gold top, we like then as much as 18A Flame Koa, when well done!

My eight year old has his eye on a Strat body in the showcase.  We are conspiring to figure out if his mother would notice if one day his beat up Peavey Raptor was suddenly replaced with a shiny new Warmoth!  :laughing7:  Anyway, we are all very excited to see this goldtop of yours, GoDrex!  From what we have heard it is going to kill!!!

My kid's gonna be a drummer.....And I havent even got kids or any on the way.

Yo GoDrex, hurry up and get your build built.  We wanna see it.

Nice one centurion !

I just realized that Warmoth used the USPS to send my stuff... I guess they thought my address was a PO BOX and that UPS wouldn't deliver it, but they do... oh well. It's here and nothing looks smashed.

I'm excited too - I'll be taking pics shortly!

If the pics from the factory inside tour are any indication it should be a fantastic build.

one kids a drummer and and the other plays guitar.  We I just custom ordered all the pieces parts for his Warmoth Les Paul.

PICS!  Plz  :blob7:

OK - I'm very happy - everything looks perfect and it's just how I wanted it. :)

Even though I got the hollow option I was still surprised by how light the body is.

From taking the pictures I found out that my camera doesn't do reds very well. The trans-red finish is a much deeper red. The camera makes it look more brown, but it really doesn't look brown at all. I looks like the candied apples I used to get as a kid. I'm glad I got that instead of the trans-brown I was thinking about at first.

I love the rosewood fingerboard - it's exactly how I like it. A little bit of grain, but not crazy. The frets look and feel awesome - much better than how my my low-end Parker and my MIM strat arrived. I can't see why this would need any kind of fret work at all for me to be happy with it right now. I got the standard thin and it makes me think that the neck on my old Star might be a Warmoth neck because it looks and feels exactly the same to me. I'm happy about that because I've playing that neck for a long time and I'm really comfortable with it.

I went through the parts real quick, looks like it's all there. Definitely not using the Earvana I ordered though. I like the concept but the material they use sucks, IMO.

OK - now I just have to get this thing put together! :)

This is the mock up that shows pretty much what the finished guitar will be like - hardware and all.

I got Seymour Duncans - a Duncan Custom and a Jazz - both with nickel covers. Didn't get them from Warmoth, since they don't offer those particular ones with covers. Oh and the tuners are Planet Waves. Got Schaller strap locks and a graphtech nut. Thinking about doing push/pulls on the tones for series/parallel.

Fantastic!!!
I love the look of the neck without inlay!!

My Parker doesn't have inlays and it's all black with black ebony (probably dyed hehehe) and I just really took to that look for some reason. I felt like this LP would be a little weird to some people because it doesn't have the blocks or trapezoids, but I just love a clean look and the blocks are too fancy for me. I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy, hehehe ;) I always wanted a Gold Top LP because that is and LP to me. It's the best look, IMO. But I decided to take a bit of a departure with the neck and hardware (a tiny bit). I figured it's already not right by purist standards, with the bolt on neck, so why not get the features I like and skip the ones I don't care for as much (not that I wouldn't be happy with the inlays if I had a real GT)?

Wooo. That's really clean. The full shot from the back is exactly what I like. Itsh a keeper.

jimh: you WANT your kid to be a drummer?  a personality disorder like that is hard to deal with  :toothy12:
