Warmoth Chambered Swamp Ash Body-Gloss Finish
Warmoth Modern Vintage neck, Maple back-Gloss finish
Standard Thin profile
10-16" Rosewood compound radius Fretboard
SS6150 Stainless Steel frets
Gotoh SG38 Tuners
Fender Am Std Hardtail Bridge
DiMarzio Virtual Solo/ Area 58/ Area 58 B/M/N Pups

My 8.27 lb Strat Plus, and 8.12 lb (with the DiMarzios), Am Std Strat were giving my ageing left shoulder severe ache after about an hours gigging on a strap. The Levys No.1 Guitar strap that was recommended to me, did help the situation a lot, but I finally decided I needed a lighter Strat, and all the Fenders I tried were around the 8 lb mark. After talking to a couple of friends who owned them I decided to try Warmoth.

I put it together last week and have to say I'm hugely impressed. It weighs 6.25 lbs for a start! The frets were perfect even with a lowish action, with no buzzing at all. the only slight adjustments I made were to slightly lower the G,B, and high E nut slots. With the DiMarzios it sounds fantastic with zero hum, is beautifully light weight, and has the most comfortable neck of any Strat I've ever played.

"Update".
Now has a Standard Thin Maple/ Pau Ferro neck. 10-16" radius. 6150 SS Frets.

Thanks, its the most enjoyable playing experience of any guitar I've ever owned. Oh yeh, 250k pots, .022uf cap'.

Nice guitar!  :headbang1:

Did the original neck have rosewood for the fingerboard?

I like how you try different and different necks! I'm thinking about my 2d warmoth build and looking at chambered swamp ash body and I have no idea what neck fits better for that. Also I have no idea how exactly chambered swamp ash sounds. Can you describe sound differences between different neck you tried and how would you describe chambered swamp ash body tone? I would be so grateful for any opinion on this topic!

I want to get some chunky fat and reasonably bright sound with some acoustic touch on the tone and I hope chambered body is what I need for that.

The chambered Swamp Ash body is a bit more resonant than a solid variety for sure. I bought it primarily for the light weight, but the added beef in the sound is a plus. For what you need a chambered body fits the bill exactly. From my experiences I'd advise a a Vintage Modern or Total Vintage neck though. The "Pro", I tried just didn't do it for me.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Now it's much more clear what I'm going to order! I totally agree that fatter necks sound much much better than standard thin necks. I have Alder Soloist superstrat with canary neck with wolfgang profile - and it's a brilliant combination! I didn't expected it appeared so good! And the neck is Warmoth pro construction, it's super stable and comfortable to adjust (I did it one time actually), so I don't mind 'pro' construction.

Looks like ash guitar would be quite close to my Alder one, so I'll go with chambered mahogany body, there are some very nice items in stock. What you said about wenge neck confirms that it bumps mids :)  I wanted to try padouk neck and I think I'll do that, it would be good fit for the mahogany body.

Thanks again, you really helped me!
