Can't find it, can't explain it, but it's there....

Just got an email saying my neck is on the way.  I decided to look everything over and make sure I have everything.  Need pickguard screws.  You would have thought that for $537 they would have came with the assembly.  I even got ambitious enough to route out my pickup cavities and cut my copper tray for the wiring.  The Rothstein pickguard wires needed to be adjusted for the slanted wire cavity in the Warmoth body.  I fit the assembly into the body then decided to check the pickups.  Using a screwdriver, I would touch the polls to see if they were active.  Neck pickup was not working but when I lifted it out, it did.  The three way selector switch is touching the copper tray and shorting out.  For now, I cut a piece of rubber band and wrapped and glued it around the base of the three way switch, so far so good.

Need advise, what do you put under your Jazzmaster pickups to raise them?  I was thinking foam or maybe surgical tubing like the ones used for Strat pickups.  http://angela.com/pickuptubingpackof12.aspx

The neck is here!  I ordered this on February 4th, hand picked the fingerboard, 1 3/4" Graphteck Tusq nut, 59 RoundBack, 6105, Satin Finish.

BUT....

I wanted abalone inlays and this gorgeous neck has black face dots.  The website kept crashing on me the day I ordered the neck, so I phoned in my order.  I have three other guitars with abalone inlays, it's not something that I would forget to ask for, I could live with it if it had the wrong back profile or a thinner neck but I think it looks crappy with these markers.  I spent weeks reading and researching this neck.  If I were a lesser man, I would cry.  Such great craftsmanship on a beautiful piece of wood made ugly as sin with black face dots, what to do? ???

Call W... their CS is awesome.  Btw, is that a chip on the tuner hole of the G string on the back of the headstock?

I did speak with Rob - Sales Manager - and he said I could return it but would loose out on the extra for the finger board and the back contour, about $70 + shipping.  He suggested I find someone local who can drill out the face dots and inlay abalone, they "don't have the technology" to do that there.  I'll have to think about it over the weekend.

And yes, that is a tiny chip on the back of the neck but it will be covered by the tuners so I wasn't too concerned.  I could be pretty forgiving, but black face dots...

I received some aged pickup covers and amazingly, the holes line up.  The white covers that come from Rothstein must be for the Japanese pickups.

My Mastery Bridge also showed up.  Really well made and they spare no expense on their shipping material!  The bridge does not come with the thimbles.  I ordered these from Angela and had them the next day.  http://angela.com/fenderusamustangvintagebridgethimblestwo.aspx

I'm not sure if I like how the returns for custom contours and unique pieces. By that I mean I don't like it. Warmoth, it would be great if you changed that policy for returns due to error on Warmoth's part.

Rob said that they read the order back but I can't imagine missing the inlays.  I even wrote about it in this thread.

How can I move this thread to the "Work in Progress" area?

Worked on the TJ, Tangerine Jazzmaster, all afternoon.  Purchased a drill press so I wouldn't drill through the back and was able to use it to press in my bridge thimbles.  I decided to keep the neck because I didn't want Warmoth to make money on their mistake and I love the way it feels.  I guess it's a love-hate relationship.  Here are some pictures of what I've done so far.
