For all intents and purposes the candy purple strat is finished... still have to trim a few nut slots (pinching a bit with trem use) and put the strap buttons on.

Here's a few more pics:

Alright - here's a handful of clean clips with various VST FX applied (FX applied in DAW),

The H-SRV Comparison has nothing on it whatsoever (and is mono).

No EQing on any of them.

Most are me noodling, but there's a couple EJ tunes in there, and a buried brief Rush into (LOL).  I'll have to do dirty clips another time.

Amp at "5", recorded at 192kHz (sampled down to 44kHz for .mp3).

H/SRV 5-way Pickup Selector Tone Comparison (starting neck all the way to bridge):

Big thanks to Warmoth (and Callaham) for providing me the parts to have a smokin' lefty Strat!  :eek:ccasion14:  :icon_thumright:

Okay.  So I don't usually like purple.  But that ain't no sissy, girly, wanna do ballet purple.  That's muscle car purple.  Love the finish, man.  The neck is perfect with that guitar as well.  I think sometimes some of us around here forget just how cool maple necks can look.  Thta one is definitely doing it for me!  The black pickup covers and knobs are a very nice touch as well.  Well done, man.  To paraphrase WillyK,  wish it was a righty!  :icon_thumright:

Bingo!  Excellent eye.

The inspiration (not mine - wish it was) - Plum Crazy Purple by Mopar:

The Candy Purple has a lil' more red in it; nevertheless, candy purple+black+chrome was the scheme.

See, you and I think more alike than we previously thought! lol.  The execution certainly lived up to the inspiration here, man.  Mopar or no car!  That is a bad-ass Challanger!

Nice strat!  I thought that color looked familiar, but I was leaning toward HD's Concord Grape purple.

Very nice.  The pearloid pickguard fits perfectly.  If Prince was a lefty, I bet he'd buy that guitar off of you.  :laughing7:

Here's a simple, quick (actually took me some time) clip of my Purple Strat with the Fulltone OCD; there's a Hammond B3 (emulated) and drums in there too.

Of note - the drums were all done real-time (I played every drum piece while recording; no additions later) on the MIDI keyboard controller using a program called "BFD"... pretty good sounding stuff.

A purple strat playing Deep Purple... go figure...

Is that the regular Warmoth Candy Purple ? Looks awesome ! A lot better than it looks on the Warmoth site in their 'color chart'.

Hope don't hurt the feelings of the photographer, but some pictures on the color chart are really weird (as well as some showcase, well, not saying I'm good on it, I'm much worse than the guy  :laughing7:)

Thx guys.

It's not easy getting good pics... 'specially of a lively finish like candy.

Here's another pic before I put her together; where the candy really shows up:
