Canary

What are the tonal properties of this wood? (Wouldn't it be nice to have threads just on specific pieces of wood to go into detail on them?)

1. How does Canary compare to Maple (is there still a sparkle)?
2. Is a 1 piece Canary neck warmer than a maple/Rosewood?

The overwhelming consensus based on customer feedback is that it is very much like Maple tone-wise. Rosewood would sound warmer.

IMO You'll love it. On the plus side Canary requires no finish, on the minus side it may need inserts if you plan to take the neck on and off more than 3 or 4 times.  Mine has an ebony board with SS wire '59 Roundback...http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=8511.0

I have a couple of builds with Canary necks with Ebony boards. Tonal quality is near identical to an all maple neck, but raw feel is much mo' better...

One of these days.... after current projects are finished (I still got a tele to finish after Vic's Mustang), then the SG, with tele bridge, hot dog route, and tele neck - made of canary.  Fatback of course.
