Can you order a binding rout without the binding?

I'm considering ordering an unfinished lam top body with binding.  I'd then do the finishing myself.  Has anyone ever ordered a body with a binding rout without the binding installed?  Would it be easier to finish the body first and then install the binding afterward?  I plan to have the lam top finished in a different color than the back of the body.

From what i know of the binding process, i think you want it done before finishing.

That sounds like something Warmoth would likely do if you emailed/called them

You would definitely want to do binding prior to finishing.

You just scrape the binding after finishing. If you did the binding after you’ll ruin the finish when you trim and sand the binding flush
