Can we no longer block postings?

Am I missing something? It seems since the change to the new look, we haven't been able to ignore postings from members. Is there no longer an ignore feature?

No your not missing anything !!

Go to your 'Profile' then to 'Modify Profile' then down to the bottom 'Buddies' & 'Ignore'
Ignore whoever you want.

I personally think that is the MOST STUPIDEST thing on this forum.  :icon_scratch:

This is why so many threads go off track or people repeat what someone has already stated.

I'll NEVER have anyone on my Ignore list ……. Because it's just plain stupid.  :icon_biggrin:

How on earth do you read a post correctly, if you ignore someone ?

If you just can't brush it off or scan straight past someone YOU don't like or never even met … I pity those people !!
You may need to get a real life !!
My 0.01cents worth.  :cool01:

Some people just need the decisions made for them. I could never imagine needing to ignore a user just to function on this forum. It reminds me of when I was a child and my sister would plug her ears and say I can't hear you. I couldn't imagine thinking so little of someone I've never even met that ANYTHING they had to say was so irrelevant that I didn't even want to be bothered by seeing it. :dontknow:

haha! my ignore feature is called middle mouse button scroll. :P

I've been ignored all my life.
I didn't even know there was a button for it until I started hanging around here.

The part that I find rather funny about the ignore feature, is someone will quote the post if it stirs up a ruckus, thereby making the feature less useful.  I guess to answer the original post, no it is not gone, but it is also not a prominent as it used to be.

I tend to agree. T'was a silly feature anyway...no big lose without it.

I welcome the ignore feature, so I guess I'm on the opposite side of the fence; I usually am.

Some people are just so downright annoying I just don't want to see or read a thing of what they type, whether it's as easy as a "middle scroll button" or otherwise. If I either think a member is a total idiot, a confrontational member, or just a cancer to this forum, I just don't care what he/she has to say or see what he/she has to say.

A better solution is just to nix OT alltogether. You want to talk cars go to a car forum. You want to talk politics go to a political forum. Keeps things focused and flowing smoothly.

Nah....things are fine the way they are. The reason for the Off Topic is because this is a really good group of people here and friendships have been built so conversations always going to stray. It's what friends do. I enjoy talking with these people about more than just guitars. I've been a dick. I've called people a dick. I've also been able to have some pretty meaningful chats with those guys too. There's emotion and passion that can sometimes make things interesting but in the end it balances back out. If you lack the social skills to be able to interact with someone and take things with a grain of salt and dismiss things that really aren't worth arguing about then maybe there's a reason you are on your computer at all hours of the night. Maybe you should limit human interactions. Real life doesn't have an ignore button.  :occasion14:

Umm, no.  Off Topic is just that, off topic.  I don't see how removing an OT section is going to add to things flowing any smoother than they already are.  Not to mention, I do consider some of the members here to be friends, and it's nice to be able to share things with your friends.
