Can True Oil be used on Basswood with good results?

I have a friend looking for a guitar to build and may use Basswood. But he will probably just want to go minimalistic on the finish. Will True Oil, and other types of wipe on finishes work well on Basswood?

Any suggestions would be great.

LOL, does it dry enough to not wipe off onto your clothes?

as long as you dont leave it in the sun i suppose. but i'd think it could rub off on your forearm and maybe shirt do to friction.

Me too, but it's a budget build. Might try to get him to pay a little extra for Alder.

agreed...alder has a little better grain too and is just as smooth.
