Can I Round the Edges?

I purchased a 7/8 S style body with a warhead, S style short scale neck. I noticed that while the fingerboard hangs out over the neck backing it also has 90 degree corners at its end. On regular, long scale s style builds instead of the 90 degrees angle it’s rounded and more 45 degree like.

So, can I do that to my neck or not?

There is no technical reason it could not be done if you have the skills and tools to do it. It may invalidate the warranty if that bothers you check with Warmoth sales prior to doing the work to change it.

I've done it.  I drew the shape I wanted on top then used a spindle sander followed by a sanding block.  Would have been even easier with a stationary belt sander - but I don't have one of those (yet).

I find the hard square edge unattractive as well. If you do the modification I'd love to see how it turns out!

I rounded the corners on mine. A quick call to Warmoth first verified that to do so does void your warranty. But, the quality is high enough that I considered it not much of a risk.

This is interesting. I ordered a Gibson 24 3/4 conversion neck which to my surprise came with the squared corner fret board. In the past when I would see them on Tele's I didn't like them but when I put it on my Strat for some reason it just seemed to match. Now that is all I want for my future builds. Maybe it is because the end of the fret board comes right to the edge of the neck pick up so it seems to match. My neck is 22 frets, if it were 24 frets I definitely wouldn't round the edges.
