Can i grain fill an existing oil finish? Can I then apply oil to the filler?

I've been linseed oiling a body recently. The body has much more open grain than the test wood i practiced upon. Would it be possible for me to grain fill on top of an oil finish? Can i then apply tru-oil (or any other finish) on top of the grain filler?
I'm a little worried that there might be some sort of reaction between the oil and the grain filler. Is that still an issue if the initial oil finish is 100% cured?

Thanks

You could try an oil based filler.  But if you use a colored filler it may affect the finish.  What type of wood is involved?  Are you using boiled linseed oil or a linseed oil based varnish?

currently it is boiled linseed oil and turpentine, i'd like to finish off with tru oil. The wood is walnut.

what kind of test wood did you practice upon?

Use an oil based filler and go for it.  The existing finish may make the filler not want to stay in the pores, so expect some challenges.  But if you intend to top coat with Tru-oil you might not need to get the pores perfectly level with the surface as Tru-oil will build and help fill the pores also.  Once you've applied a few coats of Tru-oil give it plenty of time to cure, wet sand it level/smooth, then apply a couple final coats of Tru-oil.
